The Chrome Mercy Story
We started in a Sydney workshop with a simple belief: that the marriage of art and automotive design shouldn’t live only in concept sketches and magazine dreams. It should be real. Tangible. Something you can touch, feel, and experience every time you slide behind the wheel.
While traditional trim shops were content with “good enough,” we were investing in CNC machines. While others relied on decades-old techniques, we were developing relationships with Italian tanneries and mastering laser etching. We spent the long nights. We made the mistakes. We learned every nuance of the craft — not because we had to, but because perfection demanded it.
Today, Chrome Mercy Studio isn’t just an automotive upholstery shop. It’s a creative powerhouse where aerospace-grade materials meet artisan handwork, where computer-aided precision enhances old-world craftsmanship, and where your wildest automotive interior dreams find their way into reality.

Our Philosophy
When other shops say it can’t be done, that’s usually when our clients call us. Complex? Challenging? Never been attempted? Perfect. That’s exactly the kind of project that gets us up in the morning.

Design First, Always
Every project begins with pencil and paper, moves to digital renders, and only then touches leather and thread. We design holistically, ensuring every element speaks the same visual language.

No Shortcuts.
If it takes sourcing leather from a seventh-generation Italian tannery, we’ll do it. If it means custom-programming our CNC for 47 hours to achieve the perfect perforation pattern, so be it. Excellence isn’t negotiable.

Technology as a Tool
We embrace cutting-edge machinery — laser etchers, CNC embroiderers, 3D scanners — but they amplify our craftsmanship, not replace it. Every piece still passes through skilled hands that know the difference between acceptable and exceptional.
